Can the Ketogenic Diet Improve Mental Health?
Can the ketogenic diet improve your mental health?
I do not know for sure.
Everyone is different and what works for one person may not work for another.
We are all unique individuals, with unique genetic make up, and unique experiences.
The ketogenic diet has been used to manage intractable epilepsy for over 100 years with 50% success rate, demonstrating that the ketogenic diets stabilize neuronal/brain networks.
More than a dozen clinical trials are underway with the hypothesis that the ketogenic diet may also have mood stabilizing effects and can effectively address neuropsychiatric disorders.
Doris's Story
In this video I share a story of a woman who was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and suffered for 53+ years.
She has had 6 suicide attempts.
Gained tremendous weight and went into program for weight loss with ketogenic diet.
What ended up happening is that she not only lost a lot of weight but went into remission of her psychotic symptoms.
Truly amazing!
Please leave me your questions and comments on the YouTube community channel.
What are your burning questions about the ketogenic diet?
I'd be happy to answer those questions in future videos.
I appreciate your feedback.
Until next time we continue in solidarity.
