10 Things Your Psychiatrist Won't Tell You About Psych Drugs
Informed Consent Needs to be an ongoing Conversation!

“Informed consent is about giving a patient the special knowledge that makes him/her competent to take decisions in a more informed way. This would promote individual autonomy and freedom of choice. Informed consent has ethical, clinical, and legal dimensions.” ~ National Library of Medicine ~
Dear friend,
Simply put, people have a right to know all the risks they’re taking by being initiated and staying on psychiatric drugs long term.
From mild to severe to rare adverse reactions to psych drug withdrawal, and long term outcomes, psych drug risks should be discussed thoroughly and on an ongoing basis. How else can a person make a informed decision without truly knowing both the benefits and downside?
What are all the possible risks and benefits of this drug?
This is a question that deserves an honest and transparent answer.
A blanket statement of “these drugs are safe and well-tolerated by most people” is not good enough. Well, you’re not “most people”! You’re a unique human being and your reaction to any particular drug, not just psych drugs is going to be unique.
In this recent podcast we discuss 10 Things that a prescriber should discuss openly with patients before they make the decision to start taking psych drugs.
